Introducing CFPA

The China Folklore Photographic Association (CFPA), founded in 1993, is an official partner of United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Mr. Shen Che, the incumbent president, also serves as the Ambassador for the UNESCO’s “Mondialogo”. CFPA, under his leadership and in close cooperation with UNESCO in various key programs, has made great contributions to public diplomacy, civil diplomacy, cultural diplomacy and neighboring diplomacy of China.

CFPA is the first non-government organization (NGO) in China to require members to take an oath when they join CFPA. New members swear to promote national solidarity, protect Chinese cultural heritage, strengthen communication and understanding, and contribute to world peace and development. They will be the Chinese culture inheritor and the cultural heritage recorder to document, promote, and share our diverse cultural heritage.

After 28 years of accumulation, CFPA has built its core strength: more than 60,000 members committed to discovering, recording, protecting, and studying cultural heritage. They are the important force in protecting Chinese cultural heritage. All of them take up their cameras and volunteer themselves in this mission. Their dedication and enthusiasm reinforce our confidence, respect, and pride in Chinese culture and give a strong push to the promoting of Chinese culture in the world.
